
Master Classes with Oscar® Documentarians 2016 (Recap)
Recognising the importance of creative exchanges, the Initiative brings world class filmmakers to Hong Kong for the Master Classes with Oscar Documentarians programme. This year, we invited two-time Oscar nominee James Longley and three-time Oscar nominee, 2007 Oscar Documentary Short winner Thomas Lennon. Two weekend of classes and a series of public screenings, symposium and lecture events were held from 29 October to 6 November 2016. See below the full videos of the events.

Documentarians James Longley and Thomas Lennon each taught a weekend class, offering filmmaking insights and individual project feedbacks to participants.

There were two sections of classes: Section A with James Longley—29-30 October 2016, Section B with Thomas Lennon—05-06 November 2016. Both weekend’s classes ran on a similar schedule. Click on the dates below to see more about the classes.

Get inspiration from the world-class documentarian and learn about the creative process
Sharing on artistic vision and perspective on documentary filmmaking

SUBJECT: LIVE FEEDBACK ON INDIVIDUAL PROJECTS
There are no universal rules, each approach is different depending on the work

Following on from the Saturday morning class, selected attendees will receive live feedback on short work samples of their current projects
